The Resolution Bandwagon

Well it’s that time of year again, and I like everyone else am reevaluating and making some changes.  I’ve spent some days looking over certain areas of my life, and measuring them up to a higher standard and figuring out where I’m falling short.  Jordan and I have had some great discussions and we’re ready to jump start the year and kick it in gear, and get some things done.  SO I figured writing it down and making it public, would keep me a little more accountable to actually getting it done.   Here’s the list:

1. Be a Christian–Don’t get me wrong here I mean I already am one, but I want to make sure my life and actions are showing it.  So it’s a matter of focusing on my spiritual core, and changing from the inside out.  Obviously there are a lot of steps that need to be taken to get there, a matter of chewing on the right things, ie: more Scripture, and other readings; meditating on things that are good and true–committing verses to memorization…I’m thinking 1 a week;  as well as exercising out the things which I’ve read.

2.  Within the first goal, is more reading.  So I set the goal to read 12 books this year.   I don’t read.  I know I should.  In fact a good leader is a reader, right?  I haven’t come up with the exact 12 books yet, but when I do I’ll post the list.

3.  I know I’m with everyone else when i say lose weight and be more healthy.  The goal: 50 pounds.  That would put me at the lowest weight I have ever been in my adult life, which would make me quite excited.  I’ve been on a journey of losing weight for a while now, and it would be amazing to get there.  This is my year, I can feel it!

4.  Keep using my creativity.  No huge goals here.  Just to find ways to keep incorporating it into life and what I’m doing.  Guess I’m still thinkin through this one a little.

5.  Not meant to be last, but pour more into my husband and our relationship.  I think we do a great job, but there’s always room to improve.  I won’t bore you with the gushy details, but he’s pretty amazing and deserves my best and I want to give it  to him.

It’s not a huge list, but one I think is doable.  I could probably think of a million other things, but I do want this to be a successful year, so I think 5 is enough!  I feel good about 2010 and I’m excited for what this year will bring.  And we’re off!

just remember being healthy is more than a scale.
